What a season we just wrapped up! Relaxed covid regulations but a month long pause and we were still able to get all 28 games of the ORHL regular season completed before heading into the Championship Weekend. What an incredible showing by all our teams in the ORHL playoffs. Congratulations to our Peewee and Midget teams who took who stood above the rest and raised the cup on Sunday morning in Oakville! It was an amazing weekend with some unbelievable hockey games! Congrats to all!
We have now switched focus to the upcoming season and are excited to announce that our tryouts are scheduled to begin on May 7th (Saturday of Mother's Day weekend - but nothing on Sunday so all our hockey Mom's can enjoy their day). Stay tuned for complete schedule coming later in the week. First 50 players registered will enjoy the earlybird pricing!
Some exciting news out of the ORHL meetings last week. The league is committed to getting better with every year that passes and are making some exciting new changes for the upcoming season. Some are listed below.
U18 Midget division will be splitting and will now consist of a U17-Minor Midget division for 2007's and a max of 3 x 2006's. As well as a U18-Major Midget division for 2005 & 2006's. We are planning to ice one of each.
U15 Bantam game times will mirror midget with 3 x 15 minute periods with a flood in between the 2nd & 3rd periods.
Seeding teams - as the league continues to grow, there will be an attempt after the regular season starts to seed teams of similar skill to keep all games as competitive as possible.
Continue to use Gamesheet inc and all its functionality to bring stability and consistency to team rosters, game scoring and reporting.
