We have fully updated our Arena Protocols tab https://www.chillhockey.ca/arena-information with the most recent vaccination requirements for our Players and clarifications from the Province of Ontario.

In all arenas we use for home ice, Players under 18 years of age are NOT required to show proof of double vaccination for entry. Spectators 13yrs+ ARE required required to show proof of double vaccination (2nd dose + 14days). Coaches and on-ice volunteers, the rules vary from rink to rink. We will keep the above link updated with the most recently available information from our vendors.

Regardless of the above, ALL Players and Coaches are required to complete their TeamSnap Health Check prior to each and every ice time or team scheduled event.

Updated: Sep 23, 2021

The ORHL recently posted the following news regarding their policy on mandated Covid-19 vaccinations. While the league at this time does not mandate a double vaccination requirement, it does mandate that all ORHL clubs follow their local rules, restrictions and health policies. This would include any entry requirements imposed by the ice vendors where the ORHL and its clubs operate.

This news has certainly driven increased web traffic and awareness of our Club; however, in the spirit of openness and transparency, we do have to inform prospective players that (as it stands now) approximately 82% of the ice we have under contract for the 2021-22 Season has a double vaccination requirement for entry into their facilities.

So while it may seem like there's choice and options, the logistical reality is that the overwhelming majority of the arenas we deal with do in fact require a double vaccination as of September 22, 2021.

UPDATE: September 22, 2021 - the Province has provided greater clarity around "youth sport" exemptions, and all of our vendors have adjusted to permit Players under the age of 18 entry into the rinks without a mandated proof of double vaccination.

ORHL Response Regarding Vaccinations

The Ontario Rep Hockey League (“ORHL”) continues to monitor the ever-changing status of COVID-19 in the Province of Ontario, with a keen focus on our goal of providing competitive hockey programming as close to our pre-pandemic operations as possible. Our players’ health and safety is not a measure we take lightly and we will continue to be diligent in our adherence to Provincial rules & regulations.

The ORHL has an active catchment area that covers many Central and Southern Ontario regions, each with its unique health measures and policies that we respect. While acknowledging that the situation is fluid and may be subject to change in the future, the ORHL at this moment does not have a league-wide mandated vaccination policy for its Member Clubs. It does however mandate that each of its clubs follow their local rules, restrictions and health policies, without exception. This would include, but is not limited to, any entry requirements imposed by arena facilities where ORHL clubs participate. We will commit to providing further updates, as the situation continues to evolve, so that our ORHL families are well-informed and can prepare for the much-anticipated upcoming start to the hockey season.

CHILL Hockey is back for another season! It is far from typical but our Coaches are working hard to recruit players to pull on a CHILL jersey for the 2021-22 season.

If you want to play CHILL Hockey this year, here is what you need to do.

  1. Register your player on our website.

  2. A coach will reach out and invite you to an upcoming skate.

There is no cost and no guaranteed minimum number of skates. These skates will include players already signed to the team as well as players trying to earn a spot on the team. The Coach can either invite the player back to another skate, offer a spot on the team or thank you for coming and wish you good luck if we are not a fit for each other.
