Carlisle CHILL Light the Lamp in Rochester

The Carlisle Chill Peewee Hockey Club journeyed to Rochester, NY Dec 2-4 to participate in the 2nd Annual Rochester Red Lamp tournament (A/AA division).  Friday saw the Chill open their round robin schedule with a pair of games, a solid 3-2 win over the Halton Ravens, followed up with a tough 6-2 loss against the top-ranked Burlington Cougars.  With their work cut out for them the Chill suited up on Saturday morning and handed the Tri-City Titans a 5-0 loss earning the Chill a 4 seed and a date with the Cougars in the semis.

The team came to play on Saturday afternoon in the semis, led by solid goaltending from Andrew Cushnie and Nathan Rolfe, the Chill hung on through overtime to force a shoot-out against the favoured Cougars.  Leo Manchisi and Braxton Peters provided a pair of goals in the shoot-out, to go along with Cushnie’s two saves to send the Chill to the final on Sunday!

Sunday’s final did not disappoint, in a feisty affair the Chill, led by tournament co-MVPs Braxton Peters and Ethan Thomas, held off the Conacher AAAs 4-2 to earn their first ever banner.

CHILL land AA Experience and Talent

The Carlisle CHILL have announced the signing of Nathan Noronha, an extremely talented and versatile player, who played the last 2 years with a local Flamborough-area AA team.  Nathan had key roles in their 2014 Pittsburgh Classic win, as well as their finalist run in the Chicago Cup in 2015, and the CHILL coaching staff are looking forward to Nathan bringing his winning attitude and leadership to the CHILL locker room in 2016.

CHILL add Speed, Size & Skill

The Carlisle CHILL are excited to announce the signing of Brynn Miller, a dominant force from the OWHA's North Halton Twister Peewee A team.  In early skates with the CHILL, you'd never have know Brynn spent most of the 2015/16 season sidelined with a broken fibula & tibia. Prior to 2015/16 Brynn was a consistent "top 2" goal scorer with the Twisters organization.  CHILL coaches couldn't be happier to have Brynn part of the CHILL family (literally... with brother Liam on the roster as well!).

CHILL add Local Power Duo

The Carlisle CHILL are thrilled to announce their latest signings of Cameron Morris (L) and Noah Vogel (R) from the Peewee division of a Flamborough-area hockey league.  Both have Select experience and will provide an immediate impact to the CHILL.

- at 5'2" and with skills to match, Cameron brings a package of size & speed that the CHILL are enthusiastic about.

- with a cannon shot and fantastic hockey sense, Noah adds a level of versatility & experience the CHILL are thrilled to have.

CHILL Sign Top Local Talent

The Carlisle CHILL are thrilled to announce the signing of Trent Groves, a dominant player (48G, 15A, 21GP) within the Atom divison of a Flamborough-area hockey league.   Like Leo Manchisi earlier, Trent's signing reunites him with several members of a previous championship team. CHILL Coaching Staff hope to rekindle that championship drive & focus with a great 2016-17.

CHILL Add Offesive Punch

The Carlisle CHILL are thrilled to announce the signing of Leo Manchisi, one of the top scorers (10G, 14A) of the Alliance's Atom Burlington Bulldogs.   Leo's signing reunites him with several  members of a previous championship team; both the CHILL coaching staff and Leo look forward to great 2016-17.

CHILL sign Trio of Talent

The Carlisle CHILL continue to build out their top flight 2016-17 roster; this time adding Speed, Size, Grit and Playmaking.

- #41 Declan Babony adds key size & strength, along with his Top-10 goal scoring (11G) skills.

- #7 Liam Miller split time between the ORHL and the OMHA Winterhawks, and brings a strong level of intensity, checking and skill.

- #2 Ethan Thomas, viewed as one of the smoothest skaters in the ORHL, strengthens the CHILL with his league-leading playmaking (19 A) ability.

CHILL lock up top ORHL Goalies

The Carlisle CHILL are thrilled to announce their 2016-17 goalies, #31 Andrew Cushnie and #1 Nathan Rolfe.  As members of the ORHL Atom Spitfires, Andrew & Nate currently  lead the league with 19 wins and a combined 2.76 GAA.

CHILL sign first 4 players

The Carlisle Chill have locked up 4 players from the first place Oakville Spitfires to their 2016/17 roster, including current ORHL Atom leading scorer #86 Braxton Peters (64G, 16A).

Joining Braxton on the CHILL are:

  • one of the league's best 2way players, #55 Tomas Perosevic (14pts, 20PIM)

  • feisty, speedy winger #11 Brady Kuzma (5G, 12A)

  • multi-position player and hard-nosed league leader in PIM, #8 Kiefer Sharman (20pts, 26PIM)
